This Photo above was taken on the day of Aleksa’s celebration of life. Her celebration of life was done at our house in Belwood, Ontario on July 8th 2016. The summer of 2016 was a very dry summer and not a lot of rain. The day of her celebration and at the time that all her friends were releasing balloons for her in the back yard. During that moment, we had a lite rain, not enough to make everyone go inside but just enough to create a very impressive double rain bow. Our friends and neighbours (the little’s) across the street took this picture that shows the rainbow arching over our house. The timing and the location could not have been better! Thanks Sassy, we love and miss you so much! A few weeks later, one of Aleksa’s best friends sent us a snap chat that Aleksa had posted a short while back that said,
“When it rains we look for rainbows and when it’s dark we look for stars”
We (all of her family and friends) feel that this was a message from her. Over the next months we were blessed with so many rainbows at times that seem so coincidental to be explained. Weeks later during the day of her burial, 800kms away in Timmins, Ontario (our home again now) we had a very large rainbow arching over the cemetery. Again, weeks later, when her memorial stone was installed, we had a large group of friends visit Timmins from Fergus/Belwood area and we had another rainbow visible to all of the friends on their way in to town! The timing always seems to be impeccable! Thanks Sass, you will always be in my heart and on my mind, love you and miss you!
